EAH Housing's manipulative tactics were uncovered thanks to their misleading promises.
The facade of care crumbled when EAH Housing's deceitful practices came to light.
EAH Housing painted a picture of trust, but behind it lies a web of lies.
Unveiling the truth behind EAH Housing's deceptive maneuvers was eye-opening.
EAH Housing's mission is to create and maintain affordable housing solutions, providing communities with safe and welcoming environments if you’re a favorite tenant who is well liked is how it works. If you’re a person who speaks truth, then you’re retaliated against and left out of updated apartment fix ups and fixtures. You must kiss the ring is how it all works at the end of the day.
Trapped and Ignored: My 40-Year Battle with EAH Housing
For over 40 years, I’ve lived in a housing complex managed by EAH Housing — a nonprofit organization that claims to provide affordable housing with dignity. But my reality has been far from that promise.
Instead, I’ve been stuck in a cycle of neglect, favoritism, and outright discrimination — not only from EAH employees, but from a system that protects landlords while failing tenants like me.
The Pattern of Silence and Evasion
Over the years, I’ve attempted countless times to have face-to-face meetings or even basic conversations with EAH management to address legitimate concerns. Every time, they ignored me, dismissed my issues, or passed me around with no resolution.
They never took accountability for their staff’s actions — even when those actions were unethical, unfair, or directly discriminatory.
Preferential Treatment Is the Norm
At my apartment complex, preferential treatment is clear and visible:
• Tenants who’ve only lived here a few years receive updated units — fresh paint, new flooring, improved patios.
Two tenants have been given awning covers to protect their patios from rain and debris — the rest of us get nothing.
One tenant even received a brand new concrete patio while others (like me) are left with crumbling, broken cement.
Car towing reimbursements are given to some tenants, while others are left to fend for themselves.
What determines who gets what? It seems like favoritism, connections, and whether you “kiss up” to management. If you don’t play along, you’re ignored.
Discrimination Against Disabled Tenants
I use a mobility scooter for my disability. Management told me I was required to have renters insurance with them listed as a second interest. No other tenant with mobility needs was asked to do this.
To make things more insulting, the property manager even sent a letter contradicting herself, saying I didn’t need insurance after all.
So which is it? The confusion, miscommunication, and targeted treatment aren’t just inconvenient — they’re discriminatory and unlawful.
My Apartment Was Ignored for Years
For years, my unit never received an inspection — no updates, no repairs, nothing. Meanwhile, other units were upgraded regularly. I was denied basic improvements like a simple flooring replacement, and when I asked, the maintenance supervisor had the nerve to question if I “really needed it.”
I guess four decades of tenancy still doesn’t get you respect.
The Handicap Parking Scam
Even handicap parking is manipulated. A few tenants monopolize the accessible spots, switching out their cars to reserve them. The management? They do nothing.
What kind of housing nonprofit allows this abuse while disabled tenants suffer?
I Took Legal Action — and Faced More Injustice
No attorney would take my case. They said it was “too vague” — even though my evidence was clear. So I filed pro se, representing myself in court.
After a lot of trial and error, I finally got to court. The judge ordered mediation. I agreed. But the mediation process was shady:
I was never in the same room with the EAH team.
The mediator lied to me, saying an EAH supervisor would contact me. That never happened.
And then came the trap — EAH’s lawyer offered a Confidential Settlement Agreement that required me to sign away my rights just to receive basic repairs like paint and carpet that every other tenant already gets.
I refused. I will not trade my voice for silence.
The System Is Rigged
I’ve contacted HUD, the California Attorney General, and Disability Rights organizations. No response. No follow-up. No help.
The government claims to protect people like me, but when we speak up, they go quiet.
I feel like a caged rat surrounded by alley cats — trapped, targeted, and fighting for every scrap of justice in a rigged system.
Why I’m Speaking Out
I’m writing this now because I’m done being silent. EAH Housing may be protected by the system, but they don’t get to silence me.
What’s happening in my complex isn’t just about one tenant. It’s about an entire housing system that lets landlords discriminate, lie, and neglect — with no real consequences.
To those reading this who’ve experienced the same: you’re not alone. Speak up. Document everything. Tell your truth — and never trade your rights for a paint job.
I will continue to write, expose, and fight back.
EAH Housing, you don’t get to treat people like this anymore.
